Sourcing
Guides are built on primary sources — gov.uk, the HMRC Pensions Tax Manual, MoneyHelper, the PLSA Retirement Living Standards and the House of Commons Library — rather than paraphrasing other blogs. Where a figure or rule matters, we link the source so you can check it yourself.
Review & accuracy
Money rules change. Every guide carries a visible “figures reviewed as of” date, and we re-check the numbers on a regular schedule and after major Budget or tax changes. If a rule has moved since a page was written, the review date tells you when it was last verified.
Corrections
If something here is wrong or out of date, we want to fix it. Corrections are made to the page and reflected in its review date.
Independence & affiliate links
Some links are affiliate links, which may earn a commission at no cost to you. They never change what we recommend or how we explain something — see our affiliate disclosure.
Not financial advice
